Level 1 (Introduction) - Consists of the basic teachings and protocol of circle teachings, smudging ceremony, presentation of ceremonial cloth & tobacco, and eagle feather/talking feather teachings. Also includes history of Indigenous peoples in Red Deer, Pre-European contact, different roles of family members, Residential Schools, etc. Employees are required to obtain certification within the first 6 months of employment and to recertify annually.
